Generating sales or revenue is the single greatest concern for every entrepreneur. There are a number of tactics that are obvious and fundamental to utilize online. But, there are several tactics that you should be using that most people haven’t thought of or are just unwilling to because of the work involved.

The Obvious Tactics Or The First Things To Do Online For Every Entrepreneur

Google is the elephant in the room, when we’re talking about internet marketing. Google at its heart is a marketing company and that is where its revenues are generated. Every business with a physical storefront or any type of physical location that can be justified should have it registered on “Google Maps.” It’s free and easy, the only reason why you haven’t done this is laziness. I’m constantly shocked by how many of the entrepreneurs I patron that are not registered on google places.

Yelp or similar services are the second most important marketing platform for your business. For better or worse, it’s the modern-day Better Business Bureau (“BBB”). It has the same faults and benefits as BBB. It provides some form of social verification, but whether it is valid or accurate is highly suspect. This is due to the numerous business practices engaged by “review websites” that are disingenuous and many times deceitful. But, this does not change the fact that it is a necessary evil.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social platforms are great free marketing platforms. This is assuming that you’re using them efficiently. Entrepreneurs feel the need to constantly provide content on these platforms in order to use them “efficiently or correctly.” It’s best to provide content when it is relevant and useful. It is absolutely acceptable to have five posts or less. The most important benefit that these platforms provide you is the ability for your potential customers to easily find your contact information such as name, phone number, address and email.

Youtube is vital for your service or product. Pictures and words attempt to convey information. But, a video is able to quickly and easily demonstrate your value proposition in a minute or less. Consider how often your research includes a search in YouTube for a review or a general promotional video of your potential purchase. Being able to see the visual or video representation is the closest you’re able to see your purchase in person without physically moving.

The Non-Obvious Tactic

This tactic is laborious and will likely have a success rate of less than 10%. But, they will generate sales and revenues for your business. The first tactic is to determine who is the buyer of your product and to search for their “business or company title” in Linkedin. Using Linkedin to search for your customers through company titles is an easy short-cut to create a list of potential leads. You may use Hunter.io or similar services to look-up their emails. This is old school cold calling in the modern age through email. Assume that you’ll generate a sale for every hundred emails and you can scale this tactic to generate revenues for your business.
